RC eNews: Couple Crashes VF Holiday Party

Local Couple Crashes Valley Flyers Dinner & Holiday Party

Dateline: December 1, 2009: SAN FERNANDO VALLEY A prominent Sherman Oaks couple is under investigation for crashing a Valley Flyers Holiday Party in Northridge this Saturday. It all came to light after the couple posted pictures on their Facebook page earlier today. Pictures that included posing with Vice-President Chuck Thompson, Apollo XI Mayor and Field Manager Dave Sweany, as well as several photos showing the couple being in the same room as President Jason Pakfar as he was preparing his awards speeches. The eloquent dinner is part of an annual dinner party, gift exchange, entertainment, and awards presentation that the Valley Flyers host each year for its members and their guests.

Security Breach? While sources close to President Pakfar assure that he was never in any danger, the question remains: How did the well-dressed Valley socialites get by security without being on the guest list? Former Safety Director, Gene Haban resigned on Tuesday after more than two years of faithful service as the Club's safety officer to a round of applause (thanking him for his years of service) from the current Board of Directors. Questions remain as to whether his termination was in any way related to the Holiday Party crashers situation.

The couple say they will cooperate fully with incoming Club Safety Officer, Mario Sweet and his task team of the FBI (Fairly Benign Instigators). On a recent NBC (Not By Chance) interview, the couple claimed that they were, in fact, on the Valley Flyers distinguished guest list. Event organizer, Ricc Bieber was then brought in to confer. He said that he had spoken to the couple about the 'subject of an invitation' but did not imply, without receiving the couple's payment of $25 per person or at least a confirmation of their intentions, that they would be on the guest list.

"A simple email or phone call is all that I asked," Ricc recounted, "and at only $25 per person, they could have saved themselves a lot of embarrassment." Ricc even told investigators that the couple could have simply paid at the door after sending him a request and everything would have been OK. Several sources are now claiming that the couple was merely attempting to capture publicity in hopes of getting on the popular reality TV show, "So You Think You're Smarter than a Valley Flyer?"

The Board Rules: Conclusion of the investigation took place this evening around 9:30 PM during the Valley Flyers December board meeting. It was determined that since the couple showed up one full weekend early for the Holiday Party, that no charges would be filed and the matter would be dismissed. Besides, the board reasoned, crashes happen every weekend out here, it's simply a part of the hobby...
